Hello fellow Literature classmates!
I am Lindsay Harlow, a Sophomore here at Shippensburg University. I am a Human Communication major and potentially a Business minor. I grew up in Northern Virginia and I absolutely love Washington, DC. I love to run and workout. My most proud moments were finishing my first triathlon and first half marathon. I aspire to someday finish a full marathon. My spectacular boyfriend of more than a year and my best friend of many years are the most important people to me, along with my stellar family. I was raised to believe that "blood is thicker than water," and my family has always been the best part of my life. I am somewhat religious, but believe more in being a good person, doing the right thing, and living to serve others and the Lord. I enjoy all kinds of music including Dave Matthews Band, Sugarland (country), The Saw Doctors (Irish) and other odd genres. I'm not sure what the last book I read was but I know my favorite of all time is Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys. It was unbelievably emotional and heart-wrenching but a splendid novel nonetheless. I do not have an extensive background in literature, just a few pieces here and there in English classes. I really enjoyed reading Hamlet my senior year of high school. To me literature is writing that provides some kind of message, emotion, or tale that can be explained through many different kinds of medium. Now that I have already rambled too much about myself, I am anxious to hear all about you guys!
